Recruitments in Action

What is Diversity Recruiting?

Diversity in the workplace is the idea that your team should reflect the general makeup of the society around you. Your staff should consist of a variety of different types of people, from different backgrounds and experiences. This can include diversity in regard to gender, experience, socio-economic levels, race, religion, sexual orientation, and so on.

In our experience the main problem with diversity recruitment is building a sufficient number of candidates that meet the qualifications but are also diverse. Many of these candidates, because of their background, may be unaware that working for your organization is even possible. That leads to why messaging and building awareness is so very important.

Passive Recruiting

Passive recruiting is the process of setting up different outlets for the prospect to come to you. For example, Indeed, LinkedIn, your organization's ATS, job boards. Passive recruiting is a tremendous help to bring candidates that are already looking for a job. Passive recruiting does not build awareness to create candidates that aren't currently looking for new opportunities.

Active Recruiting

Active recruiting involves building awareness with candidates that would have interest in the position that you have available but are not currently job seeking. Active recruiting has been typically done by hiring a recruiter, hosting a job fair and networking. Using digital marketing to actively recruit candidates can not only increase the candidate pool but provide detailed metrics to evaluate the performance of the efforts.
